How to Ship Stuffed Animals

Ship Stuffed Animals

Stuffed animals make great all-occasion gifts especially for kids but they can also be appreciated by grown-ups who are into collecting these plush and cuddly toys. They come in a variety of sizes and materials and made in many different forms, often resembling animals or popular cartoon characters.

Because they are soft and usually don’t have breakable parts, plushies can be easily shipped via mail with minimum effort. However, proper packing is still necessary to ensure that the stuffed animals don’t get soiled or punctured during transit. Shipping antique stuffed toys or high-value collector items also require appropriate packaging to prevent loss or theft. Here are some tips on how to properly pack and ship stuffed animals.

Wrap each plush toy in a plastic bag or wrap in bubble wrap. This will protect the toy from elements such as moisture and dirt.

Choose an appropriate-sized shipping box. Whether sending a single stuffed animal or several pieces in one package, choose a box that is large enough to accommodate all the items without forcing them into the box. Compressing stuffed animals in a box can ruin the toys’ form or create permanent and unsightly creases.

Line the inside of the box with bubble wrap. This will provide extra protection in case the box gets punctured during transit. Arrange the stuffed animals in the box. Bigger and heavier ones should be placed at the bottom of the box while the smaller ones should be on top. This will prevent the bigger ones from crushing and deforming the smaller ones. Fill empty spaces with packing materials such as bubble wrap, the shredded paper of packing peanuts, to prevent the items from shifting during transport.

Close the box and seal with packing tape. Address and label the package and take it to the post office or shipping company of your choice and pay for the option that fits your delivery requirement and budget.
