How to prevent bottled liquids from leaking during shipping

Bottled liquids such as homemade beverages and sauces must be properly sealed to ensure that they don't leak during the shipping process. Glass bottles are good containers for shipping liquids. However, they are heavier and can break if not properly packed.  If you are shipping homemade stuff but do not have the equipment to professionally seal bottles, here are some tips on how to do it.

Make sure the caps or lids on the bottles are tight and secured. As an added precaution, wrap plastic cling wrap on the cap/lid and neck area of the bottle. Use packaging tape to secure the plastic wrap in place.

To protect the bottle, wrap it entirely with layers of bubble wrap. This will provide cushion to prevent glass bottles from breaking during movement.

 
How to ship a chandelier

Chandeliers must be properly packed prior to shipping to ensure that it arrives safely and in good condition. Because it consists of fragile components like lights bulbs, crystals ornaments or glass shades, all these items must be removed from the chandelier body and packed individually.  Here are some tips on how to properly pack and ship a chandelier.

Remove all the light bulbs from the sockets. Wrap each one in cloth or bubble wrap and individually place in a small box. label each box indicating the contents.

Take off ornaments, such as shades, crystal beads and tear drops.  Wrap them individually with bubble wrap and secure with tape.  Place the ornaments in a box together with packing peanuts.  Make sure that the box is well packed such that the contents will not move when the box is closed and sealed. Also put a label on this box.

 
How to pack and ship a framed photograph

Photographs are the best way to preserve memories. A beautifully framed photograph of a loved one make a unique gift for any occasion.  When sending a framed photograph, some precautions are required as the frame glass can easily get broken and damage the picture with the shards. Here are tips on how to properly pack and ship a framed photograph so that it arrives in perfect condition.

Wrap the framed photograph generously with bubble wrap. At least two layers of bubble wrap will lessen the probability that it will be broken or damaged during the shipping process.

Make sure the the frame is tightly wrapped.  Use a lot of tape to secure the bubble wrap so that it won't come undone.
